Privacy policy
What we do with the information you send us through the site, what the site stores in your browser, and your rights under the GDPR.
Data controller
The data controller is Sofiane Amari, for the SKEION project, whose company is not yet registered. For any question about your data, use the contact form of the site.
Data we collect
Through the contact form, only what you type into it:
- your name and work email address (required);
- your organisation (optional);
- the subject of your request and your message.
Through the news sign-up form: your email address (see “News sign-up”).
The site sets no cookies and uses no advertising or tracking tools. Its audience is measured with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookie and does not identify visitors: it only counts page views and gives aggregate figures by page, country, browser and referring site. Legal basis: the legitimate interest in knowing which pages are read (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Purpose and legal basis
Your details are used only to reply to you and follow up the exchange: never for marketing, never sold or rented, and never added to a mailing list without your separate consent.
Legal basis: steps taken at your request before a possible contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) or the controller’s legitimate interest in answering professional enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Recipients and processors
Your messages are read only by the SKEION team. They reach us by email through Web3Forms, a form-relay service operated by Web3Creative (India) with servers in the United States, acting as a technical processor. Sending the form therefore involves a transfer of data outside the European Union.
Retention
Your messages are kept for as long as needed to reply to you and, at most, for 3 years after the last contact.
News sign-up
If you sign up on the home page to stay up to date with SKEION’s news, your email address is used only to send you that news (the opening of SKEION and its major milestones): a few emails a year, and no other use.
- Data controller: Sofiane Amari, for the SKEION project, as for the contact form.
- Data: your email address. Brevo also keeps a record of the steps of your sign-up (form sent, confirmation), as proof of your consent.
- Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), given by ticking the box of the form. Brevo then sends you an email with a confirmation link: your address is added to the list only once you have selected that link (double opt-in).
- Processor: Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, 17 rue Salneuve, 75017 Paris, France), which keeps the list and sends the emails on our behalf. The form sends your address directly from your browser to Brevo; the site loads no Brevo script. Brevo states that the servers on which it hosts and processes its databases are located in the European Union.
- Email tracking: we do not track individually whether you open these emails or select their links.
- Retention: until you unsubscribe and, at most, 3 years after your sign-up or your last exchange with us.
- Unsubscribing: every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also withdraw your consent at any time through the contact form.
The details sent through the contact form are never added to this list without your separate consent. Your other rights are set out under “Your rights”.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, as well as the rights to restriction, objection and portability provided by the GDPR. To exercise them, use the contact form. You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
Local storage in your browser
By default, the site stores nothing in your browser. Three exceptions, each tied to a feature you use:
- if you use the “Pause animation” button of an animated page (home, journey, guided scenario, use cases), your choice is kept in your browser’s local storage (localStorage, key
skeion-motion), so that the animations stay paused, or running, on your next visits; - if you select EN or FR in the language switch, your choice is kept in your browser’s local storage (localStorage, key
skeion-lang, valueenorfr), so that the site opens in that language on your next visits. Without that choice, the site only looks at your browser’s language, which it does not keep. If your browser blocks local storage, a marker in session storage (keyskeion-lang-r) only prevents a second automatic redirection during the same visit; - if you start filling in the contact form, what you type is kept in your browser’s session storage (sessionStorage, key
skeion-contact-draft), so that it is not lost if the page reloads. It is deleted as soon as the message is sent and, at the latest, when you close the tab.
These data never leave your device. They only serve interface features you asked for and are therefore exempt from consent under the CNIL guidelines. You can delete them at any time from your browser settings.
Fonts and third-party resources
- Fonts are served by this site itself: no request is sent to Google.
- The home page animation is served by this site itself, like its scripts and images: no third-party library or resource is loaded when a page is displayed.
- Sending the contact form contacts Web3Forms (see “Recipients and processors”). The news sign-up form sends your address to Brevo (see “News sign-up”).
- Links to other sites, such as CNRS Innovation, are subject to their own policies.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (Cloudflare Pages service, United States; see the legal notice). To deliver the pages and protect the site, Cloudflare processes technical connection data (IP address, date, requested page) as a processor. These data may be processed outside the European Union: Cloudflare states that it adheres to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and otherwise relies on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
